Getting started

MOBILedit Forensic Express performs mobile phone content extractions and is used by professionals in law enforcement, military as well as the corporate and private sectors. By connecting a phone via USB cable, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth you can perform individual examinations of the majority of mobile devices available and generate reports in multiple formats (PDF, HTML, Excel, etc.) for a variety of needs.

This tool can retrieve messages, call logs, pictures, contacts, apps, calendar events, emails, passwords, media, file system, deleted data and much more. See all the possibilities here.

Specific data you want to extract from the device can be selected - find more info about data categories here.

We have developed this tool to be as user-friendly and easy to use as possible. However, if you experience any difficulties, please contact our support.

Before you begin

To experience the best possible functionality, we recommend you to take a look at the minimum system requirements to make sure you are running MOBILedit Forensic Express on a suitable PC.

Download and install MOBILedit Forensic Express if you haven’t already. Activate the software with a valid license.

Please note: The digital key version of MOBILedit Forensic Express is not compatible with the dongle.

For the dongle version please contact our technical support
.

The step by step installation guide is available in video below:

Before connecting the phone, be sure you have installed the necessary device drivers to your PC. You can download our Complete Driver Pack here.

In some cases when connecting an Android device with the 64-bit version of Forensic Express, the device driver provided by the manufacturer of the phone will not allow for proper connection between the device and our software. There might be a need to replace it with the universal ADB (Android) driver - please find more in the following guide here.

Getting maximum data including deleted data

While MOBILedit Forensic Express is a very powerful extraction tool and extracts practically all information available, advanced users looking to get even more information from the phone should first 'root' or 'jailbreak' the phone.

Android rooting is an important step that will allow maximum data and deleted data acquisition. Learn more about it here. If you cannot or do not want to root the phone, you can alternatively use the ‘Application Downgrade’ feature to find hidden data and deleted data in certain supported apps. Visit App data and App downgrade feature page for information on this.

For iPhone or iOS device supply the iTunes backup password. iPhone jailbreaking is the bypass of several types of Apple prohibitions for the end user, including modifying the operating system (enforced by a "locked bootloader"), installing non-officially approved applications via side loading, and granting the user elevated administration-level privileges (rooting). Learn more about jailbreaking here. Or you can try to bypass the passcode on locked iOS devices with the Lockdown Files Method.

Password and PIN breaking

We have all kinds of password bypassing tools in our product: MTK hack, LG hack, EDL hack, flashing phones with recovery image and we will be adding many more as the time will go on.

Additional data can be found in either the iTunes or ADB backups. In case the backup is password protected, you can use the Password Breaker to bypass the protection.

Keep in mind that these feature are only included in our PRO version.
