Android
 

  1. The cable you are using may be intended just for charging. Check to make sure to use a Data USB cable.
  2. 50 % of unsuccessful connections are because of outdated drivers. Download the latest drivers for your model. You can try to get the latest drivers from http://www.mobiledit.com/downloads#phone-drivers or your phone manufacturer's website.
  3. Please double-check that you have USB debugging process finished to the end on the phone. The process of turning on Developer Mode may differ from Android to Android so we recommend you to search the internet for visual instructions according to your model or try our guide here.
  4. A connection failure may cause also not confirming the alerts on the phone screen that popups during the connection process. For example after you finish the USB debugging process, there is necessary to confirm the RSA fingerprint on your phone.
  5. Make sure you have waited for Windows install the drivers correctly. Afterwards, connect the phone and let it run until it connects with MOBILedit (it depends on your system performance but it can take up to few minutes).
  6. There may be other PC Suites installed on your computer. Try to kill all running processes that might be blocking the port communication using Task Manager.
  7. If USB debugging is enabled and the phone still doesn't connect, make sure the correct transfer mode is selected. We recommend: MTP (media transfer) or PC Sync mode - DO NOT USE charge only mode or MIDI.


Apple
 

  1. If you have iTunes installed on your computer, please make sure it is updated to the latest iTunes version. Make sure Apple Mobile Service is not running in the task manager. Stop Apple Mobile Service if you find it running.
  2. If you don't have iTunes installed, make sure you install the Apple USB driver correctly. You can find it here http://www.mobiledit.com/downloads#phone-drivers 
  3. Make sure you have waited for the drivers to install correctly. Afterwards, connect the phone and let it run until it connects with MOBILedit (it depends on your system performance but it can take up to few minutes).
  4. The cable you are using may be intended just for charging. Check to make sure to use a Data USB cable.


Other phones

  1. Cable you use is intended just for charging (data cable X charging cable). Check the number of pins in the cable.
  2. 90 % of unsuccessful connections is because of drivers installed in Windows. Download the latest drivers for your device. If it's not listed on our website  http://www.mobiledit.com/downloads#phone-drivers or the one that it's there doesn't work - Try to find it on google or at manufacturer's website.
  3. Make sure you have waited for Windows install the drivers correctly. Afterwards, connect the phone and let it run until it connects with MOBILedit (it depends on your system performance but it can take up to few minutes).
  4. There may be other PC Suites installed on your computer. Try to kill all running processes that might be blocking the port communication using Task Manager.
  5. There are several modes for USB connection available that appears on the phone screen after you connect the phone to PC - If it's listed use PC Suite mode, or try the other options to see if the phone connect. Make sure to leave the phone connected for a while to allow Windows to install drivers in background.
