General settings

General settings

General settings associates the basic MOBILedit settings. There are some issues to set:

First name before last name - this option allows you to swap the first name and the last name in views. Some phones have issues with interpretation of names, so this option may solve possible improper display.

Synchronize time of phone with PC – check this to automatically synchronize the time of the phone with the time of your computer (Computer is being set as master).

Minimize MOBILedit to system tray makes the program minimize to the tray instead of the taskbar.

Data Files Storage - You can change a path for data files. Data files are stored in the current user's folder by default.

How to find the user's folder (default settings):

  • Windows XP
    • C:\Documents and Settings\[CURRENT USER]\Application Data\MOBILedit
  • Windows Vista and newer
    • C:\Users\[CURRENT USER]\AppData\Roaming\MOBILedit

Do not store offline data is an option suitable for usage in public places. It ensures that the user's personal data won't be inadvertently disclosed.
