Restore overview

To restore data into a device, it is necessary to have a source -  a backup.

The Restore feature is designed to recover data into the phone that was originally used to create the backup.

The restoration process requires very little cooperation. All you need to do is:

  1. Select the proper backup to be used as a data source
  2. Select the destination device
  3. Select the item(s) to restore
Please note that MOBILedit backup cannot be used to restore applications

It is possible to use an Offline Device to retrieve the data, too. In order to do so, you need to first make a backup of the desired device while connected to MOBILedit. The image (backup) will be moved from the Offline Devices folder to the Backups folder. You can use this image to restore the original device afterwards. Of course, only the data present in the offline image can be restored, which means that not all of the phone content would be necessarily available. Read more in Offline devices chapter.
